Funeral Mass for Jesse Valdez, Jr. of Temple will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday December 17, 2016 at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Temple with Father Steve officiating.

Visitation will be held 5 to 8 PM with Rosary recited at 6 PM Friday, December 16, 2016 , at Dossman Funeral Home.

Jesse Valdez, Jr. passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 , in Temple .

He was born December 16, 1931 , in Andice , Texas to Jesse Valdez, Sr. and Carmen (Navarette) Valdez .

He married Amelia Ortiz on September 27, 1997 in Round Rock, Texas . He was a member of St Helen’s Catholic Church in Georgetown , Texas for many years and was a self employed in construction.

He is preceded in death by his first wife Virginia O. Valdez, parents, three brothers Edward Valdez, Henry Valdez and Albert Valdez; three sisters Elvera Torres, Natalia Medrano and Claudita Beltran and two grandchildren, Jason Valdez and Nolen Vargas.

Survivors include his wife, Amelia Valdez; five sons, Mario Valdez and wife Roxanne, Michael Valdez and wife Susan, Mark Valdez and wife Dedee, Leonardo Vargas, Jr. and wife Penny and Leroy Vargas and wife Vanessa; three daughters, Christina Torrez and husband deceased Mario, Carla Valdez and Yolanda Vargas; a brother, Richard Valdez; two sisters, Ester Mendoza and Josie Fischer and husband Robert; seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
