Funeral services for Lalovee (L. R.) Petty, 88, of Belton will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday , at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Dick Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for visitation Friday evening 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Our Savior, Jesus Christ, took Mr. Petty to be with him on Wednesday while sleeping in his home in Belton.

Mr. Petty was born July 12, 1928, in Belton the son of Gip and Annie (Hilliard) Petty. He owned and operated Petty Paint and Petty Post.

He married Margaret (Smith) Petty on December 3, 1949 in Belton, TX. He was a member of New Life Fellowship church.

Survivors include wife, Margaret (Smith) Petty, Daughters Peggy Petty and Cathey (Petty) Dials, two sons, Terry Petty and Roger Petty, three brothers Sam Petty, Ray Petty, and Frank Petty and sister Faye (Sister Petty) Ware, 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
