Mr. Herrington was born July 6, 1921, in Maxdale, the son of Felix Harvey Herrington and Manurvia (Burriss) Herrington. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II as a Tech Sgt. Mr. Herrington married Manervia Jackson May 6, 1944 in Little River. He worked for the Atomic Energy Commission before becoming a supervisor with Civil Service at Ft. Hood. He was a member of Miller Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Manervia Herrington of Belton, two sons Galen Kent Herrington of Gatesville, Alan Lewis Herrington of Belton; daughter Darla Kay Hill of Georgetown; three brothers Kenneth L. Herrington, Harold Herrington and Richard Grandbury Herrington all of Belton and one sister Irene Moore of Belton; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
