Ruth Muriel Allen

Services for Mrs. Ruth Murial Allen, age 96, of Belton will be held Monday at 2:00 PM at Dossman Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple. Mrs. Allen died Thursday in a Temple hospital. She was born December 17, 1913 in Stephenville, Texas to Morris Hobbs and Leola Coleta (Harrod) Gryder. She gew up in Erath County where she was a member of the Erath County Championship Girls Basketball team. She married Dr. C. D. Allen on December 24, 1934 in Stephenville. He preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Belton and was a homemaker. Mrs. Allen is survived by a son, Jerry D. Allen of San Antonio, a daughter, Cloye Largent of Ft. Worth, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. More information will be added Saturday.
