Arnold DeWayne Insall, lovingly known as “PeeWee,” of Belton, Texas, was born on December 29, 1958, in Belton, Texas, to Joe Douglas Insall and Glenda Nell Brenegar.
PeeWee was a man of God, strong in his faith and deep in his love for the Lord. Though small in stature, he stood as a giant in spirit, posture, and purpose as an evangelist for Jesus Christ. His life was marked by a sincere desire to share the Gospel and point others toward the saving grace of Jesus.
A lifelong resident of Belton, PeeWee graduated from Belton High School in 1977. He worked for Wilsonart as an operator for 15 years before medically retiring in 2014. He was a member of First Baptist Church Belton, where his faith and love for the Lord were central to his life.
PeeWee was also an avid fisherman. He especially enjoyed being involved with Cross Water Outfitters fishing ministry, where he was able to bring together two of his greatest passions: sharing the love of Jesus and fishing. Whether on the water or in conversation, PeeWee looked for opportunities to encourage others and point them toward Christ.
PeeWee married Carolyn Sue Insall on March 1, 1991, in Belton, Texas - whom he credited for bringing him to Christ. Their marriage was a meaningful part of his life, and Carolyn remained close to his heart.
He is survived by his son, William David Houghton and wife Michele of Franklin, Tennessee; his daughter, Susan Denise Coffey and husband Billy of Moffat, Texas; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth and Sarah Houghton of Franklin, Tennessee, and Ricky Gill and wife Bethany of Temple, Texas. He was also “Papaw PeeWee” to Colt and Elijah Gill. He is also survived by his brother Kirby Insall and wife Tina of Temple, Texas; his sister Kelly White and husband Judd of Abilene, Texas; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and other family members along with countless friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Insall; his father, Joe Insall and his wife Myrna; his brothers, Leonard Insall and David Barrett; his mother, Glenda Brenegar; and his sisters, Lori Barrett and Barbara Insall.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening, July 9, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton. A service honoring PeeWee’s life will be held on Friday, July 10, at 10:00 AM at Dossman Funeral Home, with burial following at North Belton Cemetery. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to attend the visitation and service.
In keeping with PeeWee’s faith and final wishes, the family asks that memorial donations be made with check made payable to the First Baptist Church, place in memo line Apple Tree Project and mail to 506 North Main Street, Belton, TX 76513.
