Funeral services for Charles Alois Fuchs , 89, of Salado, will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, June 9, 2025, at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton. A private burial will follow.
The family will receive friends for visitation 1-3 PM Sunday, June 8, at the funeral home.
Mr. Fuchs died Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in a local rehabilitation center.
Mr. Fuchs was born September 24, 1935 in Westphalia, the son of George Theodore Fuchs and Mary Ola (Keeton) Fuchs. He married Billie Jean Fant, October 27, 1956 in Temple at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Mr. Fuchs served honorably in the National Guard for a few years before working as a truck driver for Pepsi Cola. Later he owned and operated Charlie's Used Cars in Belton. In the 1950's and 1960's he owned drag race cars and enjoyed drag racing at local race tracks. He was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Salado. In his retirement he owned an exoctic ranch where he raised Black Buck Antelope and Elk.
He was preceded in death by one son, William "Billy" Fuchs; and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Billie Jean Fuchs; one son Michael Fuchs; three daughters Charlotte Frieden, Merry Kellough, and Barbara Clay; one brother Leroy Fuchs, ten grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
