Debbie Leigh Adams

Deborah “Debbie” Leigh (Ashworth) Adams 74, of Elgin and formerly of Salado passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at a Pflugerville assisted living facility.

Funeral services for Debbie will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Rev. Donnie Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Belton.

Debbie was born on June 15, 1952 in Buford, Georgia to the late J.C., Jr. and Martha Rose (White) Ashworth. She was raised in Buford, Georgia and attended schools there. After high school she met and married Jerry Adams in 1972 and they were married for 43 years before he passed away in 2015. Mrs. Adams worked at the Stagecoach Inn in Salado for many years before retiring to work alongside her husband as a rancher in the Salado area. Debbie was a longtime member of Victory Baptist Church in Salado.

Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband Jerry and her parents. She is survived by her son Jay Adams of Manor, brothers Joe Ashworth and his wife Denita of Hudson, Georgia, and Bradley Ashworth and his wife Michelle of Medina, Ohio; sister Becky Day and her husband Don of Hoschton, Georgia, and one grandson Zachary Adams of Elgin.

A visitation for Debbie will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
