Funeral services for Dennis E. Perkins, 69, of Temple, starting at 10AM for visitation, and service at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 17, 2026, at Dossman Funeral Home Chapel in Belton. Burial will be at 12, noon, Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Terrace Cemetery in Post.

The family will receive friends for visitation at 10 AM, Friday, one hour prior to the funeral service Friday.

Mr. Perkins died Saturday, July 11, 2026, in a Temple nursing home.

Mr. Perkins was born January 31, 1957, in San Antonio, the son of B. Edwin and Ann Perkins. Dennis graduated from The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and earned his masters at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. He married Sharman Schwartz, June 10, 1978 at First Christian Church in Temple. He was a technology project manager. He worked for Scott and White Hospital from 1982- 1989, and for USAA from 1989 until retiring in 2014

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Sharman Perkins; one son Tanner Perkins and husband Fritz Coral; one sister Paula Auter and husband Richard; two brothers-in-law, Sterling Schwartz and Allan Schwartz; and sister-in-law Sheila Sparks and husband Richard along with several nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Terrace Cemetery in Post, St. Judes Children’s Hospital or Heart of Texas Hospice.

The family would like to thank Dr. Michael McNeal, Dr. Alan Gowan, Dr. Jennifer Murillo, Dr. Calida Danko Dr. Mohit Bansal and all the staff at the Vasicek Cancer Treatment Center for their wonderful professional care. Also to Heart of Texas Hospice, and Cornerstone Gardens Nursing Home and staff for their care.
