A memorial service for Donald Lee Flores, 85, of Temple, will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
Mr. Flores died Saturday August 1, 2026, in a Temple nursing home.
Mr. Flores was born March 28, 1941, in Waxahachie, the son of Hollis Lee Flores and Mary Clonese Flores. After graduating from high school, and studying two years in college. Mr. Flores enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served his country, reaching the rank of Corporal before his honorable discharge in 1968. He then went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad, filling the position of brakeman and also conductor. He married Peggy Barr, July 28, 1975 in Bell County.
Mr. Flores was always busy in retirement, lifting weights as he did when he was a young man, riding his bicycle for miles and enjoyed keeping his own lawn.
He was preceded in death by his wife September 1, 2021 and daughter Terry Dudley December 11, 2008.
He is survived by his granddaughter, Megan Craddick and husband Kory and two great-grandchildren, Emory Craddick and Brylee Craddick; brother Mickey Flores and sister Linda Love and husband Ray.
