Frances Jewell (Brown) Drake, 82, of Belton, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

Funeral services for Frances, lovingly known as “Nanny” by her family, will be held at 10:00a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel in Belton, with Larry Elkins officiating. Burial will follow at Moffat Cemetery in Moffat.

Frances was born on February 9, 1943, in Moffat to the late Sude E.K. Brown and Evlyn (Shouse) Brown. She was raised in the Moffat area and spent her early years working alongside her family in the cotton fields, where she learned the values of hard work, perseverance, and faith that would guide her throughout her life. On December 21, 1957, she married the love of her life, Billy Joe Drake, at the Belton First Church of the Nazarene. Together, they shared 58 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2016.

Throughout her working years, Frances prepared taxes and worked as an accountant, but her greatest joy and most cherished role was being Nanny. She was devoted to her family and poured her heart into caring for each of them. Frances is survived by her four children: sons Billy Drake and wife Marie of Moody, and Kenneth Drake and wife Teresa of Belton; daughters Rita Anderson of Belton, and Donna Hodge and husband Michael of Northlake. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, with two more expected, as well as her brother, Darrell Brown of Belton.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
