It is with deep sorrow and immeasurable love that we announce the passing of Gloria Berumen Campa, a cherished wife, devoted mother and grandmother, beloved sister, and faithful friend. Gloria passed away surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and grace that will never be forgotten.
Born on April 9, 1966, in Durango, Mexico, Gloria was the daughter of Teodora Campa Treviño and Francisco Berumen Berumen. She was one of eleven children in a close-knit and loving family, and surrounded by her siblings: María Elena, Margarita, Gregoria, José, Rafael, Francisco, María de Jesús, Guadalupe, Martha Patricia, and Manuela.
Gloria shared 37 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Juan Chamorro Mendoza. Together, they built a life grounded in faith, respect, and unwavering support—touching everyone they met with the strength and sincerity of their love.
She was a proud and loving mother to sons Eric, Sergio (wife Noelia Selen), daughter Marisol, and a deeply adoring grandmother to Ariana. Gloria was the heart of her family. Her children credit her values, her example, and her unwavering devotion as the foundation that made them who they are today. It was through her strength that they were able to support her in return—ensuring every milestone of her life was filled with dignity and love.
Gloria lived with unmistakable joy and fierce integrity. She was direct, courageous, bold, resilient, and fearless. She loved to dance, to laugh, and to find light even in life’s hardest moments. Her greatest happiness came from feeding her family, both with food and with the warmth of her presence. Her kitchen was always filled with the comforting aromas of tradition, and her home with the sound of love.
She was selfless in every way, always thinking of others and welcoming those who loved her family as her own. Her kindness extended far beyond her household—she was a loyal friend, a spiritual soul, and a steady light to those in need of comfort or guidance.
Gloria’s strength shone most brightly during her brave battle with brain cancer. Even as she faced her illness, she remained full of grace and unwavering faith in God. Her resilience and spirit impressed all who cared for her, including the medical staff who came to admire her enduring courage and dignity.
The family wishes to especially thank her husband and children for their incredible devotion, patience, and love. Because of them, Gloria’s final chapter was filled with peace, purpose, and the comfort of knowing that her wishes were fulfilled and her love returned in full.
Gloria Berumen Campa was truly one of a kind—a woman whose life made a difference in every soul she touched. Her legacy will live on through the lessons she taught, the love she gave, and the family she built.
