Janice Tucker, 69, of Temple, TX passed away on December 1, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, December 6, 2021, at Elm Grove Baptist Church in Belton with Rev. Steven Vaughn officiating. A second funeral service will be held at Gutierrez Funeral Chapel North in San Angelo, TX at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 11, 2021, with Rev. Emmett Corker officiating. Burial to follow immediately after at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tucker was born November 15, 1952, in San Angelo, the daughter of Roy Jack Jones and Juanita (Thompson) Jones. She worked for many years in San Angelo before moving to Temple in 2000. For the last 20 years she has been the director of activities at Park Place Manor Nursing Home in Belton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband G. L. and sister Beckie. Survivors include two sons, Trey Stevens and wife Valerie of Temple, and Toby Stevens and wife Dawn of League City; stepdaughter Melissa Tucker of San Antonio; stepson Billy Tucker of San Angelo; brother Danny Jones of Santa Anna; eight grandchildren, John Wesley McCormick, Samantha McCormick, Madison Stevens, Reagan Stevens, Hunter Tucker, Samuel Stevens, Jetta Stevens and Harper Stevens. Other surviving relatives include cousin, Kathryn Shults, and her favorite nephew, Wayne Jones.
Janice was passionate about serving God and serving others. She loved playing the piano and singing praises to her Savior. She also enjoyed ministering to the residents at Park Place Manor.
