Joe A. McNamara, Sr., 90, of Belton, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home and surrounded by family on Sunday, August 16, 2026.
Visitation for Joe will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 4-8pm at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton. Everyone is invited to attend the graveside service which will be held Friday, August 21, 2026, at 10am, Bosqueville Cemetery, Bosqueville, Texas. The service will be officiated by his family.
Joe was born on January 18, 1936, in Bosqueville, Texas, to John Roberts McNamara, Sr and Clara Rita Moncus McNamara. He was raised in Bosqueville and graduated from Waco Tech in 1954. Joe married Ruby Mae Toten on December 28, 1956. He owned and operated McNamara Auto Parts for 54 years where he made many lifelong friends.
Joe was preceeded in death by his loving wife of 34 years, Ruby Toten McNamara, parents John Roberts McNamara, Sr and Clara Rita Moncus McNamara, brothers John Roberts McNamara, Jr and Paul Tom McNamara, and grandson, Jeremy Stephen Meline.
Joe is survived by his brothers, Pat McNamara (Jean), Gene McNamara, Glenn McNamara, Sr. (Petra), his children, Rita McNamara Kilgo, Belva McNamara Meline (Ken), Joe McNamara, Jr (Renee) and Steve McNamara (Melanie). Grandchildren, Rachel Kilgo Hill (Caleb), Kendall Kilgo Lencioni (Jeff), Natalie Kilgo Snow (Aaron), David Meline (Jordan), Joey McNamara, Justin McNamara (Galicia), Jonathon McNamara (Ashley), Halie McNamara Kelly (Derrick), Hanna McNamara, Stephen McNamara, Jr., 19 great grandchildren, and dear friend, Belva Haney.
The family invites you to honor Joe’s memory with donations to St. Jude’s Research Hospital and Shriners Children’s.
Dossman Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of the arrangements.
