John’s life can be defined by two major life passions. First, his 20 years in the United States Air Force. Stationed both in the states and abroad, he spent time in Germany and a one year deployment to Vietnam. His last place of service was at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He achieved the rank of Tech Sargeant. Early in his career he served as a member of the Military Police. In San Antonio he was a Drill Sargeant instructor.

Second, as a Pastor he served Texas churches in Lexington and San Gabriel. While in Bell County he pastored Keys Valley Baptist Church and Stillhouse Baptist Church, both in Belton; and also served as a teacher/pastor at the Korean Baptist Church in Killeen. He earned a Diploma in Biblical Studies through The Seminary External Education Division of the Southern Baptist Convention.
