Dr. Kenneth Cole Hobbs, 28, of Belton, TX passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Services will be Friday, August 1st at First Baptist Church Belton at 1 pm. Burial will occur at a later date at North Belton Cemetery.
Cole was born on September 23, 1996 in Conroe, TX to Brad and Lori Hobbs. Cole grew up in Belton, TX and graduated from Belton High School. Cole developed a love for animals early on while raising cattle and swine for FFA. After earning his Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University, Cole continued his education at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, where he earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2025. It was during his time at Ross University that he met his wife, Dr. Mackenzie Dennis, who shares his passion for veterinary medicine. They were married on January 12, 2025.
Outside of his professional work, Cole enjoyed spending time with his family, including their 1-year-old “mixed breed child,” Porter. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting or fishing in the tranquility of the outdoors. Cole was a member of First Baptist Church Belton.
Cole was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Kenneth Hobbs and Melvin Thomas. Cole is survived by his wife Mackenzie; his parents Brad Hobbs and wife Lori of Belton, his brother Kyle Hobbs and fiancé Maggie of Irving. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Blanch Gaskin (Ray) of Buffalo and paternal grandmother Melva Hobbs of Moody. Father-in-law Matt Dennis and wife Cheryl of Katy, sister-in-law Katelyn Dennis of Fort Worth, brother-in-law Ryan Dennis, wife Erin and nephew Grayson Dennis of Statesboro, GA; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Cole leaves behind his best friend, his dog Porter. He was a loving husband, a devoted dog dad, and a true friend that will be dearly missed.
