It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lady Catherine Elizabeth Kaylor Jennings, who entered eternal rest on July 12, 2026.
Born on June 11, 1961, in Santa Monica, California, to Margaret Mary Hanly and Eugene Kaylor, Catherine lived a life defined by courage, compassion, adventure, and unwavering service. She embraced every chapter of life with grace, determination, and an open heart.
She was the devoted wife of Sir Victor Edward Jennings; a loving mother to Richard, Jennifer, Jesse, and Ian; a proud grandmother to Isabella, Analise, Cameron, and Travis; and a beloved great-grandmother to Sebastian Saint. She was also a cherished sister, mentor, and loyal friend whose kindness and wisdom touched countless lives.
Catherine proudly served 23 years in the United States Army, retiring as a Master Sergeant. A trailblazing paratrooper at a time when few women entered airborne service, she proudly represented her country throughout the world. Her distinguished military career included service at Checkpoint Charlie during the fall of the Berlin Wall, deployment to Bosnia, and service during Operation Iraqi Freedom with Joint Task Force Eagle. For 10 years, she served as Chief of Manpower, where her exceptional leadership and dedication earned the respect of all who served beside her. Her distinguished service was recognized with numerous military decorations, including the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star.
Following her military retirement, Catherine continued her lifelong pursuit of knowledge, earning multiple advanced degrees and ultimately completing her doctorate. She believed that growth never ends and inspired others to pursue their dreams with the same determination that guided her own life.
More than her remarkable accomplishments, Catherine will be remembered for the extraordinary woman she was. She was a true free spirit who embraced life with curiosity, joy, and compassion. She loved people, cherished new experiences, and found beauty wherever life took her. Her radiant smile, flowing silver hair, gentle wisdom, and unwavering kindness made everyone around her feel welcomed, valued, and loved. She lived courageously, loved deeply, and leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
