Linda Mary Benning

Our mother Linda Benning, 78, passed away surrounded by her family in Texas on February 3, 2026.

Linda was born in the Bronx, New York on June 4, 1947, to the late John Nicholas Morrow of Michigan and Hermina (Oswald) Morrow of Gass Austria.

Our mother’s family relocated when she was a small child to the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania where she spent her childhood in the Resica Falls area.

Our mother was blessed with the gift of “gab” and never met a stranger or passed up an opportunity to talk. Once she knew you, you were a close friend. She was a very active person who did not like sitting still for long periods of time. She had a gentle spirit that showed in her love and kindness towards animals which she passed on to her children.

Our mother is survived by her children James Morrow, Dawn (Benning) Haas and John Benning. Grandchildren Kayla Preston, Joshua Benning, Brett Haas and great granddaughter Novah Lee Preston. As well as several nieces, nephews and people, she considered to be family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother John Morrow.

A celebration of life for our mother will be held sometime in June of 2026 in the Poconos Mountains for all that loved her to attend.
