Lloyd Houston

Lloyd Clifton Houston, 87, of Temple, TX, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026, at his home surrounded by loved ones. A Memorial Service will be held for him on Monday, August 24, at 2pm. It will take place at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Dossman Funeral Home is helping with arrangements.

Mr. Houston was born in Laurel, MS., on December 22,1938, to Herman Clifton and Bryan Geneva Houston.

He married the love of his life, Terry Hines, on December 27, 1957. They spent 68 wonderful years growing their family.

Faith was very important to Mr. Houston. He loved Jesus and is now dancing with Him. He was a member of Taylor’s Valley Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Oscar Fountain; and his sister, Caroline Blackman.

He is survived by his loving wife, Terry Houston; his brother, Robert Johnson; his sister, Elizabeth Whitworth; his daughter, Dennie Miller and husband Richard; his granddaughter, Olivia Tarnow and husband Brandon; two great grandsons, Jaxson Tarnow and Skyler Tarnow; and one great great granddaughter, Emery Rae Tarnow.
