Madrajean Penney

Funeral Services for Madrajean Penney, 94, of Little River, will be held at a later date in Refugio.

Mrs. Penney died March 21, 2022, in a Temple nursing home.

Mrs. Penney was born December 29, 1927, in Refugio, the daughter of James Monroe Underwood and Mattie Winifred (Key) Underwood.   She married Joe C. Penney, Jr, May 12, 1950 in Austin.  She worked as a bookkeeper with her husband in his business.   She was a Methodist.

She was preceded in death by her husband August 5, 2010.

Survivors in one son, James M. Penney of Houston; one daughter Nancy McDonald and husband Jimmie of Little River; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
