Marc Christopher Hellinghausen entered his heavenly home on January 16, 2026. There will be a celebration of life service on January 20, 2026, at 11:00 am at First Baptist Belton with a visitation beforehand from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with the family.

Marc was born on March 22, 1960, in Monahans, Texas to Robert and Su Hellinghausen. He was the baby of the family and was known as Marc the Spark to his brother and four sisters. He moved with his family from Monahans, Texas to Midland, Texas and he graduated from Midland High School in 1978 where he lettered in football. Marc was a big Red Raider and graduated from Texas Tech University in August of 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Geology. He worked as a geologist in Midland before beginning a network marketing business where he enjoyed tremendous success and forged friendships that have lasted a lifetime. In later years, he owned his own decorative concrete company which he operated in Central Texas. Marc was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, hiking and fishing. He hunted in South Africa, Canada and throughout the United States and holds an archery record for one of the largest black bears taken in North America.

Marc married Shelli Speck on August 6, 1983, and they were married for 42 years. Daughter, Kali Hellinghausen Dick was born on October 18, 1990, and son, Logan Christopher Hellinghausen was born on September 22, 1993. Marc and Shelli had a beautiful marriage filled with love, fun, adventure and service. Marc served as a deacon at First Baptist Belton where he attended for 25 years. Through the years, Marc and Shelli taught Sunday school in several capacities with many years serving youth and young married couples. Marc had a passion for teaching young believers how to defend their faith.

The greatest role Marc had was Dad and he was always involved and present at all of Kali and Logan’s endeavors. He coached many of their teams and was their greatest cheerleader. He was Mr. H to many of their friends, and he was the life of the party that kept everyone laughing. His greatest investment was in leading his children spiritually and it was his tremendous joy to see them love the Lord and serve Him with their lives.

In recent years, he was the Pops that made every moment fun for his six grandchildren. They were his pride and joy and he was the best Pops ever! Marc loved his family with all of his heart! He fought a courageous battle with cancer the last three years and he had an amazing attitude and resilient spirit. He inspired us all! We rejoice that he is whole and strong in the presence of his Savior.

Marc is survived by wife, Shelli Hellinghausen, daughter Kali Dick and husband JT Dick, son Logan Hellinghausen and wife Riley Hellinghausen. He is survived by six grandchildren, Ezra Dick, Sable Dick, Atlas Dick, Juniper Dick, Knox Hellinghausen, Tatum Hellinghausen and a new grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his brother Greg Hellinghausen and sisters Sonia Belcher, Hillary Hellinghausen and Sid Crouch as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Su Hellinghausen and sister Jill McDaniel.

Memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Belton at 506 North Main in Belton, Texas.
