Marian J. Wood, 85, passed away on June 1, 2025, in Goldthwaite, Texas. A viewing will be held on June 5, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton, Texas. Funeral services will follow on June 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the same location. Marian will be laid to rest at Greathouse Cemetery in Temple, Texas, immediately following the funeral.
Born on January 10, 1940, in Mason City, Iowa, to parents Howard and Violet Corbin. Marian lived a full and vibrant life, defined by her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family.
Marian's educational journey began with her graduation from Mason City High School in 1958, followed by her graduation from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 1979, a testament to her commitment to learning. Throughout her career, she worked diligently as an accountant, a profession that reflected her meticulous nature and strong work ethic.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Marian served her country honorably in the Air Force in 1958. Her legacy of service extended beyond her military career; she was a beloved member of First Baptist Church in Belton and actively contributed her time and talents to the Belton Kiwanis and Friends of the Belton Library.
An avid hobbyist, Marian found joy in quilting, solving puzzles, and reading. These passions not only brought her personal happiness but also inspired those around her to embrace their creativity and curiosity.
Marian was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Roy Wood, and her beloved sisters, Wanda Lunning and Janice Parrish, son-in-law Billy Martin and great grandson, Zachary Turner.
She is remembered fondly by her daughters, Carolyn Tamplen (Donnie), Amanda Greger (Jerome), and Barbara Martin, as well as brother-in-law Darrell Lunning and sister-in-law Louise Wood. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Alicia Smith (Chris), Rebecca Sanders (Ronnie), Stephanie Morton (Sam), and Patrick Greger, and her great-grandchildren: Stephanie Sanders, Shauna Tamplen, Nathan Sanders, Riley Morton, Marissa Delacruz, and Jaycee Morton. Great-great-grandchild Lilith Herrera also carries forward her memory. Marian leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by her warmth and generosity.
