Mildred "Millie" Vaughan

Mildred "Millie" Virginia Vaughan, 97, of Moody, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, in Belton.  She was born June 18, 1929, in Silver Spring, Maryland, the youngest child of Raymond and Jane Gibson.

As a young adult, Millie served alongside her first husband, William H. Adams, in ministries throughout New York and Pennsylvania.  They later settled in Lancaster, Pennsylvania until the time of their separation, when Millie and son David moved to Killeen, Texas.  In 1984, Millie met and later married Myron C. Vaughan, with whom she enjoyed 25 wonderful years before his passing.  

She worked for 15 years at Walmart in Belton as manager of the Health and Beauty department and held a certificate in Christian counseling.  She was an active member of several congregations over the years, including Faith Temple in Killeen, Evangel Center in Temple, and Lakeview Baptist Church in Belton.  

Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Myron C. Vaughan; son, James S. Adams; and granddaughter, Rani Baeddel.  She is survived by her sister, Helen Harris, and her children; daughter Linda S. Ellis, grandson Chris (Jing Zhai); son Ronald W. Adams, his wife Marilou, and their children Anri (Nada Ibrahim), and Ben (Abbie Miller) and their son Vaughn; and son David B. Adams (Warren Teachout).

A visitation will take place from 9:30 to 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with the funeral service beginning at 10:00 AM with Rev. Ron Adams officiating. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery in Belton.  She will be dearly missed.
