Milton Herbert Mayfield

Milton Herbert Mayfield, affectionately known as Herb, passed away on June 5, 2025, at the age of 96 in Belton, Texas. Herb's memory will be honored with a viewing on June 11, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton, TX. A funeral service will be held the following day, June 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM, also at Dossman Funeral Home. Concluding the services, Herb will be laid to rest at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple, TX, following the burial service at 3:15 PM.

He was born on June 18, 1928, in Killeen, Texas to parents Commodore and Willie Mayfield. Herb proudly served in the Navy, a testament to his commitment to his country and his fellow citizens. Following his military service, he developed a passion for woodworking, golfing, and fishing, particularly enjoying time spent along the beautiful coast. His hobbies were often a reflection of his dedication to family and friends, providing him with both relaxation and meaningful moments shared with loved ones.

He is survived by his son, Ronnie Mayfield and wife Hazel; his grandchildren, Damien, Samantha,and Robert Mayfield; as well as his great-grandchildren, Luci and Gwyennevere. Herb also leaves behind his nephew, Royce Nichols and wife Margaret, and a dear close friend, Regina Angell. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia Mayfield, as well as his parents.

A gentle soul who left a lasting impression on all those fortunate enough to know him, Herb Mayfield will be dearly missed and remembered with much love.
