Nola LuAnne Gorham, age 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 10, 2025, in Temple, Texas. Born on February 16, 1936, in a farmhouse near Sylvia, Kansas, Nola was known for her love of family, dry wit, and deep friendships.
Nola married Robert Gorham in 1954. Together, they raised three daughters and launched several businesses. They began their married life in Turon, Kansas, where Robert was part owner of Gorham Motors. Later, in 1966, he established Bob Gorham Motors in Kingman, Kansas. In 1974, the family moved to Rockport, Texas, and later relocated to Killeen, Texas, where Robert founded Foresight Solutions, Inc., specializing in aftermarket automotive sales.
Following Robert’s passing in 2007, Nola seamlessly stepped into leadership of the business until it closed in 2024, just six months before her passing.
Nola was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her children: Randi Thimesch (Ron) of Wichita, Kansas; Nancy Boulmay (Thomas) of Georgetown, Texas; and Hallie Anne Hollenback (Rob Tidball) of Portland, Texas. She was proud of her grandchildren, and their accomplishments brought her great joy: Alison Sueper of Wichita; Andrea Thimesch of Topeka, Kansas; Katherine Thimesch of Hollywood, Florida; Kelli Thimesch of Wichita, Kansas, Jonathan Thimesch of Wichita, Kansas; Shane Baumgartner, Allen, Texas; Charlie Rogers of San Antonio, Texas; and Allison Adams of Portland, Texas. Also surviving are ten great-grandchildren.
A lifelong learner, Nola was an avid reader of newspapers, history, current events, psychology, graphic novels, and—most importantly—the comics and editorials. Nola had a flair for decorating, and her home was warm and inviting. She also enjoyed entertaining. Her gatherings were not extravagant, but they were always fun and memorable. She loved sending greeting cards to family and friends and rarely missed a birthday or anniversary.
Nola was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert, and her brother, “Sonny” Edwards, who passed away just a month prior. A joint celebration of life for Nola and Sonny will be held in Kansas over Memorial Day weekend—a time when the Edwards siblings often returned to their home state to visit family, decorate relatives’ graves, have lunch with their Edwards cousins, and attend their Turon class reunions.
Nola’s friends described her as classy. It was more than her appearance; it was how she treated everyone with the utmost respect. Nola will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
