Robert Wesley Carlson, or Bob as most knew him, 83, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026 in Temple, Texas after a brief illness.
Funeral services for Mr. Carlson will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 10:00am at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Pastor Grayson Albers officiating. He will be entombed at the Carlson Mausoleum at North Belton Cemetery immediately following the service. There will be a Celebration of Life for Mr. Carlson at the Lake Belton VFW, 4 Woodland Trails in Belton immediately following the Cemetery Ceremony.
Robert was an adventurous youth, growing up farming with the family. When he graduated high school, he joined the Air Force, and became a flight engineer on a C130. Life brought him many adventures during this time, flying to places like Vietnam, Pakistan, Iran, Paris, Germany and so many other places to support the troops during the Vietnam War and beyond. While he enjoyed his military career, he soon moved on to joining the civilian workforce as a supervisor for an Ad Specialty Company in Minneapolis, MN where he met his current wife, Judy Carlson, whom he has been married to for 51 years. Every anniversary he would give his wife a red rose, which is represented by the 51 roses displayed today. He came to Belton in 1986 and started his own Advertising Specialty Company, Custom Printing II Ltd, which became a staple in the community very quickly. He eventually got into ranching and raising cattle. He loved being outdoors. He loved working and staying busy. He especially loved building buildings. If there was space, he was building on it.
Robert is survived by his wife Judy Carlson; his 3 daughters Kim Dorneman, Renae Ward, Robin Breard (husband Frank); his 2 stepdaughters and stepson Vicki Dunagan, Jamie Pardun (wife Tammy), and Lori Craker (significant other Ted); his 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren listed respectfully (Grandchildren) Stephanie, Mandy, Janae, Amber, Amanda, Adam, Samantha, Megan, Taryn, Joseph, Danielle, Joshua, Nicholas, Meghan, and Takoda; (Great Grandchildren) Shelby, Gavin, Malakai, Malaya, Bentley, Lennon, Leon, Messiah, Cora, Lincoln, Everley, Elias, Evie May, Erwin, and Elijah. He is also survived by 3 sisters Jennie Bengtson, Marilyn Homrighausen, and Denese Carlson.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Margaret (Ewert) Carlson; his sister Cari Stattelman; and his brothers Ronnie Carlson, David Carlson, and Jerry Carlson. They welcomed him back into their arms with love.
He will be deeply missed by all of his family, friends, and all who knew his fun-loving spirit. Robert’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will continue to resonate within the hearts of those he leaves behind.
