Rosa Jalene Martin of Marshall Texas passed away at home surrounded by her family on July 17th, 2025. She was 71 years of age.

Jalene's Celebration of Life will be at 11 AM, on August 16th, 2025, at the American Legion Smiley-Summers Post, 1904 Bomar St. Marshall, Texas 75670.

Jalene was born on July 25th, 1953, in Waxahachie, Texas to Carl Eugene Stevenson and Lona Mae Dunlap.

Jalene had a humble beginning growing up in Waxahachie, until she met Tommy. Rosa Jalene Stevenson married Tommy Carr Martin on March 17th, 1970.

Tommy was a sailor in the Navy, so Jalene got to move around the country as a Navy wife. Sending her support to Tommy while he was in Vietnam and raising their children. This life would later lead her to being a big supporter of our troops, veterans and their families.

After Tommy's time in the Navy, they moved to Oklahoma with their three children, eventually moving back to Tommy's hometown of Marshall, Texas. Where along with raising their kids got involved with the VFW, the Elks and the American Legion.

Jalene "Fun Size" Martin was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and bartender at the Smiley-Summers post. She supported every part of the American Legion Family, Jalene was there for every fundraiser, every function. Be it the parties for the Sheltered Workshop Children or Christmas at the Veteran's Home, and many more things, she was totally involved. She was the Heart of the Smiley-Summers American Legion Post.

Jalene is survived by her husband Tommy Martin of Marshall, Texas, daughters; Ginger Martin & boyfriend Sammy Garcia, of Georgetown, Texas, and Tonja & husband Rick Collins, of Temple, Texas and son Scott Martin of Hallsville, Texas, grandchildren; Steven & wife Kelly Stackhouse, Adam Stackhouse, Randy McGuire and Kenzlee Martin, in addition several brothers and sisters, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, plus a big batch of in laws.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Jalene`s name to the Smiley-Summers American Legion Auxiliary.
