Susan Bonham

Susan Bonham of Temple, Texas passed away at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple on September 24th, 2025. She was 70 years of age.

Memorial service will be at 2pm on Saturday, September 27th, 2025, at Dossman Funeral Home.

Susan was born on February 5th, 1955, in Tuscola, Illinois to Robert and Betty Priest Benner

She enjoyed bible studies, bingo, and socials at her senior living apartment in Temple, Texas

She loved gathering with family for Sunday lunches, playing board games, crocheting, reading, playing solitaire and having “girls’ days out” with her daughter and granddaughter. She was mostly looking forward to making a family trip to Big Bend National Park this October. Her daughter, son, son-in-law, and granddaughter plan to spread some of her ashes under the Big Bend stars she was so excited to see. While we are disappointed that she didn’t get to make that trip, we know her view of those stars from heaven standing next to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is even greater than the view from down here. She was a former member of Arthur Southern Baptist Church in Arthur, Illinois.

Susan is survived by daughter Trina and husband Will Rogers of Temple, Texas, son Travis Helmka of Bryan, TX, brothers Kenny and wife Karen Benner of Tuscola, Illinois, Chuck and wife Sue Benner of Tuscola, Illinois, sister Brenda Deaville of Urbana, Illinois, bonus children, Patrick and wife Donna of Atwood, Illinois, Jonathan Bonham of Champaign, Illinois, granddaughter Sarah Rogers and bonus grandchildren Christopher, Cherish, Chantell and Cameron.

Susan is preceded in death by her husband Roger Bonham, and her parents.
