Virginia Lee Benner

Virginia Lee (Jeschke) Benner, 94, of Holland passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026. Virginia was born on July 6, 1931 to William and Laura (Steinhauser) Jeschke. She married Coleman Benner on April 27, 1951. They recently celebrated 75 wonderful years of marriage.

While Virginia was a homemaker most of her life, she also worked at Holland ISD for several years and was proud of ensuring all the kids had hot delicious meals. Another role Virginia proudly served was to take care of Holland Volunteer Fire Department Members. When members were called to a fire, there was a good chance you would see Virginia there serving food and water or she would welcome them back to the station with a meal.

Virginia was proceeded in death by her parents, a son, Ricky, and a brother, William Jeschke. Survivors include her husband of 75 years, Coleman Benner; son Kevin Benner, daughter, Vicki Benner-Slye(Rick), daughter-in-law Joyann(Ricky), all of Holland; one granddaughter Tina Entrop(James) of Temple and two great-grandchildren, Cory Entrop of Japan and Haley Entrop-Ozment(Chase) of San Marcos.

Visitation will be at Dossman Funeral Home Chapel in Belton on June 26, 2026 from 5-7 PM. Services will be at Holland First Baptist Church at 506 Dixie Drive in Holland on June 27, 2026 at 10:00 AM with Randy Evans officiating. Burial will follow at the Holland Cemetery. A social will be held at the Holland Community Center at 107 W. Travis Street in downtown Holland.
