William James (Bill) Reedy, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on May 6, 2025, in Temple, Texas.
He was born on January 18, 1944, in Panama City, Florida, to his parents, Samuel and Louise Reedy.
He was proud to have served his country in the United States Navy for four years, a testament to his dedication to service and duty. His military experience instilled in him values that he carried throughout his life, shaping his character and the way he engaged with those around him.
A member of the Masonic Lodge, Bill embraced the principles of brotherly love, relief, and truth, values that defined his interactions and relationships both within and outside the fraternity. He cherished the bonds of friendship formed through mutual respect and shared ideals.
He married the love of his life, Kathy Finnegan, on December 18, 1965. They spent almost 60 wonderful years together.
His passions were as vast as the outdoors he loved. He found joy in hunting, golfing, and being surrounded by nature, relishing every opportunity to spend time outdoors. These hobbies allowed him to create lasting memories with family and friends.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Kathy Reedy, who was by his side through life’s many journeys. Bill is also survived by their children, son Scott Reedy and wife Brenda, and daughter Cherri Radfordand husband Scott, who will forever cherish their father’s guidance, love, and wisdom. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Casey (Thomas), Scott Jr. (Jessica), Tyler (Sarah), and Rachel (Aaron), who held a special place in his heart. The joy of his life expanded with the arrival of his great-grandchildren, Maddie, Mackenzie, Ellis, and Emma, each bringing light and laughter into his world.
Bill’s family will remember him not only for his steadfast love, but also for the laughter and joy he brought to their lives. His memory will be honored and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. In this world, he was a brother, a mentor, a friend, and above all, a loving family man. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those he has left behind.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Wounded Warriors or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his name.
